We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and support secure enterprise network and cyber security solutions. The role will be responsible for the deployment and operational management of SASE, SD-WAN, SIEM/SOAR and Network Access Control (NAC) technologies, ensuring secure, resilient and highly available services across complex enterprise environments.
This is a 6 month contract role.
What you'll do:
- Design, implement and optimise SASE and SD-WAN solutions to deliver secure and scalable connectivity.
- Develop and maintain secure network architectures aligned with enterprise security standards and operational requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across network transformation, modernisation and security initiatives.
- Support and optimise SIEM and SOAR platforms, including security monitoring, alerting and automated response capabilities.
- Develop and maintain security use cases, playbooks and automation to improve threat detection and incident response.
- Implement and manage Network Access Control solutions, including FortiNAC or equivalent technologies.
- Maintain network segmentation, device visibility, onboarding and identity-driven access controls in support of Zero Trust principles.
- Maintain operational ownership of network and security platforms, including monitoring, upgrades, patching and lifecycle management.
- Support incident, problem and change management processes and contribute to the resolution of complex technical issues.
- Develop technical documentation, runbooks, dashboards and knowledge articles to support effective operations.
- Partner with business, technical and security stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver secure network solutions.
- Provide technical mentoring and guidance to operational teams and contribute to architecture reviews, risk assessments, audits and security reviews.
- Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement across network and security operations.
What you'll bring:
- Significant experience in senior network engineering, network security or a similar technical role within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and supporting SASE and SD-WAN solutions.
- Demonstrated experience with network security architecture, including firewalls, IPS/IDS, Secure Web Gateways, CASB, Zero Trust and network segmentation.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM and SOAR platforms and security monitoring technologies.
- Experience implementing and managing NAC solutions, ideally FortiNAC.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing and switching, VPN technologies and cloud networking.
- Experience with security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management and security automation.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and enterprise security controls.
- Experience managing the operational lifecycle of network and security platforms, including upgrades, patching, monitoring and change management.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong documentation and organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously and provide technical leadership.
