At Eni, we are looking for a D&IT Digital Business Analyst within Eni Trade & Biofuels (ETB) in London. You will work across the whole application lifecycle (requirement gathering, analysis, design & testing through to go-live), leveraging your skills with communication, business processes, and stakeholder management, combined with an agile and design-thinking approach, to ensure that new developments and systems are fit for purpose. We are looking for a strong problem-solver with a wide knowledge of technologies such as cloud, data analytics, business intelligence, ML/AI and cybersecurity to propose new and innovative solutions to the business, as well as to support digital transformation and continuous improvement initiatives across our application landscape.

This role offers unparalleled exposure to the entire commodity trading lifecycle – both physical and financial – through close collaboration with our Front Office, Risk functions, Finance, Back Office, and multiple business units.

Main responsibilities

The D&IT Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in delivering and transforming the best possible systems for the trading and risk portfolio, partnering with wider D&IT teams and external parties to contribute to:

  • Designing new solutions.
  • Transforming the existing portfolio of live applications into cloud-native architecture.
  • Analysing business needs and translating into data-oriented and Microservices solutions.
  • Working closely with development teams to analyse, prototype and deliver on requirements related to cloud-native solutions as efficiently as possible.
  • Supporting requirement gatherings and specifications, choosing the most effective means to elicit and document these with workshops, storyboards, user stories, or other methods.
  • Analysing and verifying requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards, as well as documenting these fully.
  • Complying with established processes where required, and working across teams to define processes and documentation/training as new features and systems are implemented.
  • Defining full testing procedures, and working with our business colleagues to plan and deliver these to ensure that newly developed functionality and newly implemented systems are fit for purpose.
  • Participating across the organisation to deliver far-reaching programmes of transformation or initiatives across all areas of the organisation, contributing to the business and technology view.
  • Mentoring team members to develop their knowledge of processes and technology within the organisation and to support their delivery of solutions.

Skills and experience required

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Prior experience in a similar role, particularly with Cloud Transformation projects, ideally within a trading environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microservices and Cloud architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of Data and Domain-driven designs.
  • Experience with ETRM or trading packages and relevant implementation experience would be an advantage.
  • Experience with technologies related to cloud / data analytics / AI / ML / BI and cyber security would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of programming and/or scripting languages would be an advantage.
  • Strong stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to influence across business, IT, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong team player, proactive and motivated to learn.
  • Fluent level of English.
