About the project

We are growing our data team and looking for a Data & Insights Engineer Lead. If you enjoy leading data engineers and shaping the technical strategy behind data platforms that people depend on, this one is for you.

This is a senior, client-facing role that puts deep data engineering expertise next to team leadership. You will lead a team of data engineers, define the platform standards they build to, and act as the main technical reference for both delivery teams and client stakeholders across one or more programs.

You will work as part of a global delivery team, where quality is a shared responsibility at every stage of the data engineering lifecycle: pipeline design, data modeling, deployment, monitoring, and the continuous improvement that follows.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable pipeline architectures for collecting, processing, transforming, and delivering data at enterprise scale.
  • Define engineering standards, data modeling patterns, and platform best practices across the team.
  • Own the technical strategy for cloud data infrastructure across AEP, GCP, and AWS, keeping it reliable, scalable, and affordable to run.
  • Govern data quality, integrity, security, and compliance across every data product and pipeline.
  • Evaluate and recommend the tooling that fits each client's stack, from Airflow and Snowflake to dbt.
  • Mentor and upskill senior and mid-level engineers through technical reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of data engineering programs, on time and aligned with what the business actually needs.
  • Partner with data scientists, analysts, and platform engineers to build data ecosystems that power analytics and AI workloads.
  • Improve how the team works, how reliably its pipelines run, and what it holds itself to.
  • Act as the primary data engineering contact for client stakeholders, explaining strategies, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly.
  • Turn complex data infrastructure topics into decisions a non-technical audience can act on.
  • Spot data engineering opportunities inside client engagements and propose new approaches to hard platform problems.
  • Contribute to pre-sales work, including technical scoping, effort estimation, and capability presentations.

What makes you a great fit

  • Seven or more years in data engineering, with at least three in a senior or lead role.
  • Deep proficiency in Python for data manipulation, pipeline development, scripting, and automation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AEP, GCP, and/or AWS.
  • Solid expertise in Airflow for orchestration and complex pipeline management.
  • Deep experience with Snowflake, including warehousing, performance tuning, and analytical workloads.
  • Practical experience applying AI concepts in data engineering and analytics contexts.
  • A track record of leading data engineering teams and owning delivery in client-facing environments.
  • Strong SQL, plus a deep understanding of data modeling, governance, and security.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Business-level English.
