About Pearson Labs
Pearson Labs explores emerging technologies, innovative learning experiences, and new product opportunities that have the potential to shape the future of education.
We operate in fast-moving environments where not all the answers are known from the outset. Our teams identify opportunities, test assumptions, validate ideas, and transform promising concepts into experiments, prototypes, and scalable solutions.
We are looking for an organised, proactive, and curious intern to help support the operational side of innovation projects, ensuring teams remain aligned, informed, and able to move initiatives forward effectively.
About the Role
As an Associate Product Program Manager Assistant, you will work closely with Product Managers and cross-functional project teams to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of innovation initiatives across Pearson Labs.
This role provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to product development, innovation practices, stakeholder collaboration, and emerging technologies, while building valuable project coordination and operational skills.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
- Maintain project information, documentation, and team insights using Jira Product Discovery and other collaboration tools.
- Support project planning and coordination activities to help teams stay aligned on priorities, goals, and next steps.
- Follow up on actions, decisions, commitments, and workshop outcomes to ensure momentum is maintained.
- Assist with project status reporting, progress tracking, and operational updates.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by supporting inspection and adaptation practices.
- Collaborate with diverse teams, including Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Designers, and Business Stakeholders.
- Support innovation programmes and help drive visibility across multiple initiatives within Pearson Labs.
What We're Looking For
We're less interested in a specific degree or academic background and more interested in your skills, mindset, and willingness to learn.
You may be a great fit if you are:
- Naturally curious and enthusiastic about learning new things.
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- A clear and confident written communicator.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently when needed.
- Interested in innovation, artificial intelligence, digital products, and emerging technologies.
- Comfortable working in an international, English-speaking environment, where English is the primary language of communication.
- A collaborative team player who enjoys working with people from different disciplines.
Experience with project management tools, Agile ways of working, Jira, workshops, student societies, or extracurricular leadership activities is beneficial but not essential. We will provide support and development opportunities to help you build these skills.
What You'll Learn
This internship offers hands-on experience within a global innovation team focused on the future of education.
During your internship, you will gain insight into:
- How innovation projects are managed in environments with high levels of uncertainty.
- How teams evaluate, test, and validate new ideas before investing in product development.

- Portfolio management and how innovation pipelines are monitored and prioritised.
- The role of AI and emerging technologies within a global education company.
- Best practices for project coordination, communication, and operational excellence.
Why Join Pearson Labs?
This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that explore the future of learning while developing highly transferable skills in innovation, product operations, project coordination, and stakeholder management.
You'll work alongside experienced product and innovation professionals, gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies, and play an active role in bringing new ideas to life.
