This Position reports to:

Global Motion Support Manager - LEAP  

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will provide second-line support for large motors and generators Service Tools to the Motion Services front-end organization on a global level.

Some of your key tasks will be providing technical support for our life expectancy analysis program (LEAP), focusing on supporting hardware/software related issues and resolving field test data quality issues. ABB Ability™ LEAP is ABB’s life expectancy analysis program that helps customers maximize reliability of high voltage machines.

Additionally, you will be providing support to field service engineers with motors and generators related maintenance procedures within ABB preventive maintenance program and other condition monitoring service tools i.e., air gap inspection (AGI) and vibration analysis.

You will work closely with internal and external customers, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions that drive customer satisfaction. Along the way, you will gain expertise in service tools, data quality and have the opportunity to network with the global field service community and product management team.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

This role is contributing to the motors and generators business line in Motion Service division in AMEA region. Main stakeholders are global LEAP product management, AGI product management, center of expertise, LEAP analysis team and local service units.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Providing technical advice and troubleshooting support for LEAP test procedures to field service engineers globally within ABB Motion Services.
  • Providing support on motor and generator maintenance procedures and troubleshooting steps along with support to service tools like air gap inspection and vibration analysis.
  • Analyzing information from our databases, identifying the patterns and trends, and know-how accumulation, by writing FAQs for common issues. Providing product management team, a summary of the feedback from the field and of any issues noted that would require coordination of resources for resolving.
  • Displaying clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in your own area of responsibility and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
  • Recognizing and analyzing technical problems, collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver solutions.

Qualifications for the role

  • Degree in relevant engineering preferably, electrical engineering.
  • 5-8 years of work experience in the high voltage diagnostic testing and independent handling of high voltage testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of the construction of high voltage machines, maintenance procedures and troubleshooting steps is desirable and will be considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of insulation systems used in high voltage machines is desirable and will be considered a plus.
  • You are at ease communicating in English and have ability to work in a global team environment.
