Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced and innovative Solutions Architect with deep expertise in Snowflake and a strong background in data engineering and data governance. As a Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex data architectures that align with the strategic needs of our clients. You will work closely with stakeholders to define data solutions that optimize the use of Snowflake, ensuring best practices in data storage, integration, security, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and Design Data Solutions: Develop scalable and efficient data architecture using Snowflake, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry best practices.
- Data Engineering Leadership: Oversee the development and implementation of data pipelines, ETL processes, and integration strategies using modern tools and frameworks (e.g., Snowflake, Python, SQL, etc.).
- Data Governance Framework: Design and implement robust data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, compliance, security, and metadata management across platforms.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Engage with clients, internal technical teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions, ensuring successful delivery.
- Optimize Data Performance: Ensure optimal performance of data systems, focusing on scalability, speed, and efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve any data-related issues.
- Innovate and Automate: Implement automation processes for data integration, monitoring, and error handling to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure data security policies are in place and comply with industry standards and regulations, including encryption, access controls, and data masking.
- Mentor and Guide Teams: Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and team members, promoting best practices in Snowflake and data engineering.
Required Qualifications
- Proven Experience:10+ years of experience in data architecture and engineering, with a focus on Snowflake.
- Snowflake Expertise: Deep expertise in Snowflake Data Cloud platform including data warehousing, security features, performance tuning, and data sharing.
- Strong Data Engineering Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other relevant programming languages and frameworks used in ETL/ELT processes.
- Cloud Knowledge: Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP and familiarity with their data storage and integration services.
- Data Governance Knowledge: Solid understanding of data governance principles and tools, including data lineage, cataloging, data security, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Collaboration and Leadership: Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to think strategically and solve complex technical problems in a scalable, efficient manner.
- PubSec Domain Experience: University sector and/or government sector experience is mandatory.
