We're focused on hiring great people, not perfect resumes. We're focused on hiring great people, not perfect resumes. It's less about what you've done elsewhere and more about what you're capable of doing here.

The Role

At Sovos, we're looking for a hands-on Senior Site Reliability Engineer to help run our cloud infrastructure across multiple AWS accounts and regions globally. You'll play a critical role in improving the reliability, security, scalability, and operational maturity of business-critical SaaS platforms that serve thousands of customers worldwide. This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong technical expertise, operational discipline, and the ability to influence teams across multiple products and regions.

More specifically, you will:

  • Drive adoption of Site Reliability Engineering best practices across product teams, establishing operational standards, service ownership models, runbooks, and reliability objectives that improve platform availability and resilience.

  • Lead major incident response activities, coordinate technical recovery efforts, and facilitate blameless post-incident reviews that identify and drive long-term remediation initiatives.

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code solutions that improve reliability, consistency, and operational efficiency.

  • Leverage AI tools and automation to develop self-service capabilities, observability dashboards, and monitoring solutions that enable engineering teams to deploy and operate services more effectively.

  • Support Disaster Recovery planning, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring recovery objectives and backup strategies are documented and regularly validated.

  • Partner with Product Development, Information Security, Support, Architecture, and Product Leadership to establish automation strategies and incident management processes that drive operational excellence.

What You Bring to Sovos

  • Equivalent experience or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems.

  • You have experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or similar roles, operating production workloads on AWS.

  • Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes platforms and containerized applications in production, plus expertise with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or OpenTofu.

  • Strong experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK/OpenSearch, or Datadog, and proven ability supporting incident management and operational improvement programs.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions and drive improvements across multiple teams.

  • Comfort with AI-assisted engineering workflows and automation platforms is a plus, along with experience supporting regulated SaaS products or compliance-driven environments.

  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, Redis, or other production data platforms is beneficial, as is Spanish and English language proficiency.

We believe in a transparent and comprehensive hiring process. Here's what you might expect:
