Position Summary
The number of people living with diabetes is expected to grow from 382 million adults to more than 592 million by 2035. People with diabetes incur 2.3x higher medical costs and $16,752 average medical expenditures per year.
This is a big problem to tackle. Our diabetes team is dedicated to building and managing products to reduce the diabetes cost burden and improve the lives of people with diabetes. Current products include i) our Deprescription product that helps Caremark members with Type 2 diabetes work with a tailored nutrition and monitoring program with the goal of reducing or eliminating their reliance on medication and ii) Transform Diabetes Care, which matches members to resources that make it easier for people with diabetes to manage their medications, stay aware of their numbers, get regular screenings, and find a dietary plan that works for them.
Your home will be on the product team. You will work cross-functionally across the Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) care management organization and the broader CVS enterprise—with our clinical operations team, customer experience team and marketers, product operations team, clinical teams, legal/privacy/compliance, client implementation teams, and finance.
This role will own our diabetes product portfolio's strategic roadmap for new product development, including design, development and implementation of new products and capabilities to support our vision of reducing the diabetes cost of care.
Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities to reduce the complexity and increase accessibility, engagement, and impact across product versions and customizations
- Define new or revised capability requirements irrespective of source
- Define user stories, member journeys, and resulting requirements to drive product improvement iterations
- Deliver quantitative analyses that will yield answers to the critical questions at hand. Oversee the successful delivery of timely, accurate analyses.
- Use data-driven insights and a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics to identify and prioritize a product backlog that will drive differentiation and value creation.
- Define, refine, and track product key performance indicators
- Support in the articulation of product positioning and differentiation against competition
- Set the strategic roadmap along one of our core product innovation platforms.
- Direct analytics to deliver quantitative analyses that will yield answers to the critical questions at hand. Oversee the successful delivery of timely, accurate analyses.
- Use data-driven insights and a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics to identify and prioritize the set of products and services that will drive differentiation and value creation.
- Scope, plan and direct cross-functional development teams to launch new products in a way that enables speed to market and agility.
- Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities including product design and implementation
Required Qualifications
- 7 to 10 years of experience in product design or product management required
- Experience executing the product development lifecycle
- Experience effectively working with 10+ colleagues multiple functional areas such as Business Strategy, Commercialization, Clinical Strategy/Support/Operations, Technical Operations, Sales, Customer Support, Finance, Legal, Privacy, and Compliance
- Experience managing direct reports and providing guidance on their professional development and personal growth.
- Structured and logical thinking with the ability to identify and define business problems and issues, and develop strategic, analytical and financial frameworks to conduct analysis and/or measure success
- Proven capability conducting and managing quantitative analysis and developing business cases with the highest level of attention to detail.
- Powerful communicator with the ability to succinctly convey complex issues to a diverse range of constituents, both verbally and on paper at all levels of an organization
- Highly developed project management skills
- Highly skilled with common analytics and communications software – primarily Excel and PowerPoint (Tableau experience is a plus)
- Results focused, self-starter mentality – a person who makes things happen.
- Able to develop clear goals and plans and deliver against them
- Intellectual curiosity and tenacity with ability and willingness to learn on the fly to understand and solve complex problems
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of work experience including time at a leading strategy consulting firm
- 2+ years of healthcare experience
Education
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required. MBA or other relevant post-graduate education strongly preferred.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$82,940.00 - $182,549.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
