Full description

Job PurposeThe Data Analyst owns data extraction, reporting and dashboarding for Metabolic's clinical and business teams. The role pulls data from the clinic's systems, structures it and turns it into dashboards and reports that give the team a clear read on patient outcomes, program performance and business metrics.

This role sits close to the Metabolic Baseline and the clinic's broader diabetes and metabolic health programs. The work here feeds directly into research, partnerships and operational decisions across the business.

Key ResponsibilitiesData Extraction & Management

  • Extract data from the clinic's database and other systems on a regular schedule and on request.
  • Clean and structure data so it's ready for analysis, checking for accuracy and completeness before it goes anywhere.
  • Keep a documented process for every extraction so the same pull produces the same result each time.
  • Flag data quality issues to the relevant team and track them through to resolution.

Dashboards & Reporting

  • Build and maintain dashboards that track clinical, operational and program metrics for the teams that rely on them.
  • Update dashboards on a set schedule and keep the underlying data sources current.
  • Turn raw data into reports and presentations that summarize findings clearly for non-technical audiences.
  • Document the methodology behind every report so results can be checked and reproduced later.

SQL & Database Work

  • Write and maintain SQL queries against the clinic's database to pull, join and aggregate data across tables.
  • Optimize queries so dashboards and reports run without slowing down clinic systems.
  • Work with the technical team to flag schema changes that affect existing queries or reports.

Python & Analysis

  • Use Python and Pandas to clean, transform and analyze datasets that go beyond what SQL or spreadsheets can handle.
  • Build repeatable scripts for recurring analysis so the same request doesn't require manual rework each time.
  • Apply statistical methods to support research projects and clinical program evaluation.

Compliance & Data Privacy

  • Handle all patient and clinical data according to DHA guidelines and UAE Federal Law No. 45 of 2021 on data protection.
  • Limit patient data access to authorized personnel and keep every extraction within an approved scope.
  • Understand, follow and support the clinic's infection control and data governance programs.
  • Escalate any clinical interpretation questions to the clinical team and log them. This role does not answer clinical questions independently.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as data science, statistics, computer science, public health or a related discipline.
  • One to three years of experience in a data analyst role, ideally with exposure to healthcare, clinical or life sciences data.
  • Strong SQL skills, comfortable writing queries that join and aggregate data across multiple tables.
  • Working proficiency in Python and Pandas for data cleaning, transformation and analysis.
  • Experience building dashboards in tools such as Power BI, Tableau or a comparable platform.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to collect, organize and validate large volumes of data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data findings to a non-technical audience.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data privacy standards and clinical research data practices is a strong advantage.

Compliance• All data handling follows UAE Federal Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and DHA requirements for patient information.

  • Patient confidentiality applies to every extract, report and dashboard. Access stays limited to what a task requires.
  • No patient-identifiable data leaves the clinic's systems without approval from the relevant data owner.
  • Clinical questions arising from the data get escalated to the clinical team and logged.
