The SpringBoard Wallpaper team is responsible for the delightful and personal backgrounds available on iOS, iPadOS and helping build beautiful macOS Screensavers. Wallpapers & Screensavers are the first thing you see when you wake your iPhone, iPad, and Mac and is fundamentally what makes those devices yours. This team is responsible for creating great new dynamic wallpaper and screensaver options every single iOS, iPadOS, and macOS release tied to the latest and greatest OS’ & devices Apple expects to ship

Description

As an engineer on the Wallpaper team, your responsibilities will range from pushing the boundaries of computer graphics to make beautiful works of art in close collaboration with our partners in Design and Marketing. You will be closely involved in every step of the process and will ultimately ship your wallpapers and screensavers year after year. The expectation is to make pixel perfect works of art and to sweat every detail. You will be expected to both build beautiful works of art but also engineer the experience for success to match the performance and power characteristics of the device.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience with Shader Languages (HLSL/GLSL, Metal Shaders) and writing custom shaders
 is a must! Experience with graphics APIs (Metal, OpenGL, Direct3D, Console, etc.)
Experience with Apple UI frameworks (UIKit, CoreAnimation, SwiftUI) and an eye for UI detail Open-Minded with strong Collaboration skills ^ Not kidding about this, you will be learning constantly and collaborating extensively with peer teams, designers, teams across apple, and senior leaders

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing with Cocoa or other application frameworks Excellent debugging skills and an eagerness to work hard and learn!
