Senior Project Manager - CDC
Position Status: Contingent upon contract award.
Position Summary
Lead day-to-day execution of a complex CDC contract, integrating schedules, personnel, subcontractors, deliverables, quality controls, reporting, risks, and client communications across concurrent tasks. This role will operationalize management requirements and coordinate performance across multiple tasks and workstreams. The Project Manager will integrate technical, scientific, evaluation, communications, meeting, data, and recipient-support workstreams; maintain the Project Management Plan, subcontractor oversight, quality controls, monthly reporting, transition activities, deliverable acceptance tracking, and invoice alignment; and ensure emerging issues are resolved promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the Project Management Plan, integrated schedule, staffing plan, quality controls, risk and issue logs, and deliverable register.
- Coordinate task leads, subcontractors, consultants, technical personnel, and administrative staff.
- Lead monthly COR meetings and prepare agendas, status reports, financial summaries, and action documentation.
- Manage transition, onboarding, required CDC training, personnel changes, and knowledge transfer.
- Track Government reviews, acceptance criteria, invoice alignment, and corrective actions.
- Resolve operational issues promptly and maintain clear documentation of decisions and solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree.
- Experience: At least 10 years of progressively responsible project or program management experience, including 5 or more years managing federal contracts or task orders with multiple workstreams, recurring deliverables, subcontractors, budgets, risks, quality controls, and Government reporting. Direct experience in CDC, HHS, public health, scientific, evaluation, technical-assistance, or professional-services environments is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to produce accurate, timely, and high-quality work in a multidisciplinary, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, organization, judgment, and client-service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting CDC, HHS, another federal health agency, a public health recipient network, or a comparable mission-focused organization.
- PMP or comparable project-management certification.
