ABOUT THE COMPANY
EROAD is a global fleet management technology company, providing telematics-based tracking, compliance and safety solutions to fleet operators, and the product organisation is moving from reactive, ad hoc ways of working towards proactive, scalable processes, with a Product Operations Manager now sought in Auckland to own and drive that uplift.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
This role sits at the centre of the product organisation, keeping people, process and delivery aligned.
- Build and evolve the rituals and governance that keep product teams working well, including planning cycles and roadmap reviews
- Champion standardised tools, templates and reporting across the product org
- Define and track operational metrics across the product org, building dashboards and reporting that give leadership clear visibility of performance
- Own product documentation and knowledge management so information is easy to find and keep current
- Act as the bridge between product, engineering and business stakeholders, aligning cadences and tracking delivery against shared goals
- Drive the shift from reactive firefighting to proactive, scalable ways of working across the product development lifecycle and adjacent areas such as go-to-market and end-of-life
- Partner closely with the VP of Product, Product Leadership, Product Managers, engineering and business stakeholders, without direct people management responsibility
WHAT YOU NEED
- Experience building or evolving product operations processes, rituals and governance frameworks such as planning cycles and roadmap reviews
- Experience driving cross-functional alignment between product, engineering and business stakeholders
- Experience owning documentation, knowledge management systems and reporting mechanisms
- Experience implementing operational metrics and reporting systems, including data analysis and dashboard tools such as Power BI, to give leadership clear visibility of performance
- Comfort with product management tools such as roadmapping, planning and reporting platforms
- A genuine interest in and hands-on application of AI tools and approaches to product operations and ways of working
- Enough seniority to lead operational strategy and process change across product teams, without needing to be a top-tier or chief-of-staff-calibre hire
- A strong product operations or process background is welcome even without a formal Product Manager title, and related backgrounds such as programme or project management, business operations or chief-of-staff-style roles with product org exposure are also considered
- Hands-on Product Manager experience with commercial acumen is a plus, as is exposure to SaaS, hardware or B2B tech environments, though none of these are required
