- JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Project Management is a strategic leadership role responsible for leading the execution of complex municipal and industrial wastewater projects through a team of Project Managers. This role oversees project delivery to ensure alignment with project management strategies, organizational priorities, and customer expectations. The Senior Manager applies strong technical experience and leadership skills to guide the team in addressing complex technical and operational challenges.
Reporting to the Director of Project Management, this position plays a critical role in translating strategic direction into operational execution. The Senior Manager drives consistency in project delivery, ensures adherence to established standards and frameworks, and provides leadership in resolving complex technical and operational issues. This role partners closely with cross-functional leaders to optimize performance, resource utilization, and customer outcomes.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following represents the essential duties and responsibilities of this role. Other duties may be assigned. Tasks listed are intended to be descriptive rather than restrictive
Project Execution, Operational Excellence, and Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Lead the successful execution of the project portfolio, including schedule performance, budget adherence, risk mitigation, and customer satisfaction
- Provide clear and consistent visibility into project performance, including risks, issues, and recommended actions, to support leadership decision-making
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex project challenges and drive timely resolution in alignment with organizational priorities
- Maintain accountability for project milestones and deliverables, ensuring compliance with established processes, standards, and frameworks
- Implement and reinforce standardized project management methodologies, tools, and processes established by the Director of Project Management
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service to ensure aligned and efficient project execution
- Optimize project assignments and resource allocation across the team to balance workload, capability, and delivery requirements
- Monitor key performance indicators and lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance delivery performance, efficiency, and customer outcomes
- Support financial performance through oversight of budgets, cost variances, forecasting, and change order management
- Ensure appropriate rigor in the execution of high-risk and high-value projects, including formal reviews, approvals, and milestone tracking
Leadership and Team Development:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers to drive higher performance and professional growth, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and development planning
- Provide leadership support and decision-making guidance on complex project issues and stakeholder concerns
- Execute talent management processes, including performance reviews, coaching, succession planning, and development planning
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement aligned with organizational values
- Provide input to the Director of Project Management regarding team structure, capability gaps, and development needs to support long-term success
- Build and strengthen key internal and external relationships critical to project success, reinforcing trust, collaboration, and long-term partnership value
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment but may also be exposed to dust, noise, and other conditions on customer sites or the factory floor. This position may also require visits to wastewater treatment facilities, where the employee may be exposed to wastewater and/or sludge (biosolids).

- POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This role will be based out of the HUBER corporate headquarters in Denver, NC. This role is not eligible for remote work. Regular in-office presence (3-4 days per week) is required to support leadership engagement, collaboration, and operational effectiveness.
- TRAVEL
Some travel is required to fulfill the duties of the role. This may include but is not limited to customer sites (wastewater treatment plants or industrial sites), visits for technical issues, sales support, training, or tradeshow attendance.
- EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or a related field is preferred
- 8-10+ years’ progressive experience in project management, engineering, or related technical environments
- 5+ years’ leadership experience managing project teams in a technical or industrial setting
- Strong interpersonal skills, accountability, problem solving, and analytical thinking
- Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Familiarity with project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Wastewater industry or Industrial experience preferred
- Project Management Certification preferred
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools
- SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises a team of Project Managers and supports cross-functional project contributors.
