Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
- 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
- Experience with distributed processing and large-scale data processing.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience programming in C++ programming language or 1 year with an advanced degree.
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Experience with GCP Services like GCE, BigQuery, or Spanner.

As a Software Engineer on the Cloud Observability Analytics team, you will build and support the backend infrastructure that makes our products intelligent. You will design and develop new integration pipelines to make trace and error log data more actionable for developers and AI agents across Google Cloud. In this role, you will define system components, influence the architecture of critical services, and develop deep expertise in core Google Cloud technologies.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $147000 - $210000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

- Write product or system development code.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Develop new features for the OA Integrations pipelines, Cloud Trace, and Cloud Error Reporting products and ensure our tools and products continue to remain in compliance with all Cloud horizontals.
- Collaborate with SRE to ensure we continue to provide our most important feature: reliability. You will also participate in the team's 24x7 production on-call rotation after ramping up on the team.
