Description:

Working within a team-based environment, the Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for the shift's part quality, adhering to processes and procedures which contribute to an efficient and safe operation at Baytech Plastics. QA techs are part of the shift leadership team along with the supervisor and lead injection technician.

Ability to work rotating shifts, 8hr and 12hr, grade 12 minimum, ability to lift moderate weight parts. Full time benefits after completion of probation.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality audits on plastic parts based on specified criteria and record results digitally and manually.
  • Ability to use various types of measuring gauges and equipment.
  • Abiltiy to read and interpret drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • General admin: Prepare reports, ensure all quality records are up to date and filed correctly, data entry.
  • Train injection operators and other staff on quality standards and applicable procedures; ensure enforcement of procedures and policies.
  • Must wear proper PPE and follow all specified guidelines.
  • Participate in new product introduction teams.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities.

Requirements:

  • Computer literacy(Microsoft products, PowerPoint, excel, outlook)
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, Inventory management system is an asset
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 quality management system is an asset
  • Good knowledge of math
  • Knowledge of Imperial and metric system
  • Experience with measuring devices(Calipers, micrometers, scales, etc)
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team

Rotations: 8hr (MAD), 11pm-7am, 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm one week at a time 12hr 2 week Days; 7am-7pm, Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun, Wed, Thurs 12hr 2 week Nights; 7pm-7am, Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun, Wed, Thurs
