About Company: Our client is a startup technology company that offers software integration, software development, and technology consulting services to major financial institutions in Nigeria.
The Company is seeking to hire a skilled Backend Developer who will be responsible for developing and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performance applications using Java, with working knowledge of C# and .NET technologies.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing backend services, APIs, database structures, and system integrations that support critical business operations and customer-facing applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications and services using Java.
Build and maintain RESTful APIs and system integrations.
Develop scalable, secure, and high-performing backend solutions.
Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver business requirements.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and system issues.
Optimize application performance, database queries, and system efficiency.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and data protection standards, especially within the financial services industry.
Assist in database design, maintenance, and optimization.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline from a reputable university.
2–3 years of backend development experience, preferably in a fintech or banking institution.
Strong proficiency in Java and experience with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot.
Working knowledge of C# and the .NET framework.
Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
Experience with Git and version control systems.
Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
Experience with payment systems, financial applications, or transaction processing platforms.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization technologies is an added advantage.
Knowledge of application security and secure coding practices.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
