Tech Lead (Vue JS + Nuxt JS) - Chicago

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead (Vue.js + Nuxt.js) to lead the design, development, and delivery of modern, scalable web applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Vue.js, Nuxt.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and front-end architecture, along with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

This role requires hands-on technical leadership, solution design, code reviews, mentoring developers, and collaborating with business and product stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of enterprise-scale applications using Vue.js and Nuxt.js.

• Define front-end development standards, frameworks, and best practices.

• Drive technical decisions, solution design, and implementation strategies.

• Ensure application performance, maintainability, scalability, and security.

• Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to development teams.

Development & Delivery

• Develop and maintain high-quality, reusable, and scalable front-end components.

• Design and implement Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Static Site Generation (SSG), and API-driven architectures using Nuxt.js.

• Collaborate with backend teams to design and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.

• Participate in sprint planning, estimation, backlog grooming, and release planning activities.

• Monitor project progress and proactively mitigate technical risks.

Team Leadership

• Mentor and guide developers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical coaching.

• Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and promote engineering excellence.

• Support hiring, onboarding, and skill development initiatives.

• Foster a collaborative and innovation-driven engineering culture.

Quality & Performance

• Establish coding standards and development guidelines.

• Implement automated testing strategies and CI/CD best practices.

• Optimize applications for speed, accessibility, SEO, and user experience.

• Ensure compliance with security and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• 8-12+ years of software development experience.

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Vue.js.

• Strong experience with Nuxt.js, SSR, SSG, and modern front-end architectures.

• Experience leading development teams and delivering enterprise applications.

• Expert knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern UI frameworks.

• Strong understanding of design patterns, software architecture principles, and application scalability.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Compensation, Benefits and Duration

Minimum Compensation: USD 50,000

Maximum Compensation: USD 175,000

Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
