The Opportunity
We’re looking for an Assistant Product Manager – Technology who is curious about what’s next in connected fitness and ready to turn ideas into products customers can use and enjoy. Working with product managers, strategic partners, and cross-functional teams around the world, you’ll help develop new technology offerings, improve existing products through software updates and other enhancements, and support smooth product introductions.
Your work may span retail and commercial LED and touchscreen consoles, connected strength technologies developed internally and with third-party partners, and commercial entertainment accessories. This is a hands-on, non-supervisory role for someone who enjoys connecting the dots between technology, products, people, and the customer experience.
How You’ll Move the Work Forward
- Build and maintain relationships with technology experts in embedded computing, television, digital media, and software.
- Research consumer needs, competitor offerings, and emerging consumer electronics trends.
- Prepare and share detailed competitive reviews and keep product-category analysis current.
- Support meaningful consumer focus groups when needed.
- Partner with Global Education to develop online learning that helps sales and service teams deliver a stronger customer experience.
- Coordinate technology product meetings with North American cross-functional teams and share key learning globally.
- Champion the development of new hardware and software for assigned product lines.
- Help lead cross-functional product launches from planning through market introduction.
- Contribute to a team-selling approach that supports global revenue growth.
- Support tradeshows and other product initiatives as needed.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- A four-year degree in business, marketing, communications, or engineering, or applicable experience.
- Education or experience in product, sales, or service within the fitness industry, or product management experience in another consumer industry.
- An understanding of hardware and software development and networking fundamentals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Initiative, urgency, attention to detail, and a commitment to world-class quality.
- The ability to organize resources, set priorities, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- A positive, professional approach with internal teams and external partners.
- Willingness to travel locally, domestically, and internationally.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience with networking or technology infrastructure.
- Experience with mass retailers, specialty retail, or health clubs.
- Product management or product training coursework.
- Experience managing strategic partners.
- International product development experience.
- Firsthand enthusiasm for fitness equipment or consumer fitness-tracking products.
Location & Physical Requirements:
This is a full-time, 100% onsite position based at Johnson Health Tech North America’s headquarters in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin. The role is primarily performed in a typical office environment and includes domestic and international travel approximately 2–6 times per year. Additional responsibilities may include assembling fitness equipment and occasionally lifting or moving items weighing up to 25 pounds.
