Role Overview

We are looking for a Junior Business Analyst to join our team and support the ongoing improvement, development, and operation of our internal platforms.

This is an entry-level opportunity suited for a recent graduate or someone starting their career in technology, business analysis, operations, or project coordination. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced team members, developers, and internal stakeholders to understand platform processes, investigate issues, support improvements, and help deliver new solutions.

The role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with digital platforms, system processes, data, and technical teams. Training and guidance will be provided, but the candidate should be curious, organized, willing to learn, and comfortable working with both business and technical concepts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with gathering and documenting business requirements for internal platform enhancements and system changes.
  • Support the prioritization of platform tasks by providing information on business impact and operational needs.
  • Work with internal teams to understand business processes and help translate operational requests into clear development tickets.
  • Provide day-to-day support for platform-related activities across internal operations, reporting and business processes.
  • Assist with investigating platform and system issues by gathering information, identifying affected processes and documenting findings.
  • Liaise with developers and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and support issue resolution.
  • Ensure business requirements and supporting documentation are accurate and kept up to date.
  • Assist with coordinating user testing for new developments, bug fixes and configuration changes.
  • Validate completed work against documented requirements and report any discrepancies.
  • Monitor outstanding issues and follow up to help ensure timely resolution.
  • Keep stakeholders informed of progress by providing regular updates and maintaining accurate records.
  • Identify recurring issues and contribute ideas for improving platform functionality and operational processes.
  • Support platform improvements by ensuring operational and reporting requirements are considered during change requests.

Analytics & Monitoring:

  • Assist with monitoring platform performance, operational processes and system activity to identify potential issues.
  • Review reports and data to identify trends, inconsistencies or areas requirement further investigation.
  • Support reporting improvements by validating data, documenting reporting requirements and highlighting data quality issues.
  • Escalate unusual system behaviour, reporting discrepancies, or operational concerns to senior team members.
  • Prepare basic reports, analysis and summaries to support business decision-making.
  • Assist with maintaining dashboards, reports and operational metrics where required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and platform performance through data analysis.

 

Collaboration & Professional Development:

  • Work closely with developers and stakeholders to build knowledge of business processes and system functionality.
  • Develop an understanding of the organization’s platforms, products and operational workflows.
  • Participate in team meetings, project discussions and process improvements initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of requirements, processes, meeting notes and system changes.
  • Build knowledge of business analysis techniques, tools, and best practices through ongoing learning and practical experience.
  • Carry out other duties appropriate to the level of the role as required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Level of Education:  EQF Level 4 or the equivalent 
  • Experience:  Ideally 1+ years of experience in a similar role 
  • Ability to analyse & investigate issues, ask probing questions & collaborate with relevant stakeholders 
  • Strong analytical mind-set with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear insights to support business decision-making 
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills 
  •  Meticulous, with a high level of attention to detail 
  • Ability to meet deadlines 
  • Organised, reliable and able to work without constant follow-up 
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly 
  • Ability to work well with various members of staff from commercial to technical teams and be a team-player 
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications 

Bonus Skills

  • Basic SQL or reporting knowledge 
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and a willingness to adopt new technologies to improve, productivity, research, documentation and data analysis 
  • Previous experience working third-party integrations
