We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Project and Programme Manager.
In this role you will:
- Own end-to-end delivery for the GTS scope of Project S, ensuring outcomes are delivered to plan and aligned to programme objectives, business priorities and HSBC governance expectations.
- Lead executive governance and decision-making, engaging senior stakeholders and steering forums, presenting options and trade-offs, and escalating risks/issues/blockers early to maintain pace, transparency and control.
- Direct integrated planning and delivery controls, including cross-workstream dependency management, critical path and milestone tracking, change control, delivery assurance, RAID management and disciplined reporting.
- Own financial management and performance MI, including budget oversight, forecasting, actuals, target tracking, and a clear narrative on drivers, variances, risks, and decisions required.
- Drive complex transformation execution within GTS, spanning business change, regulatory delivery, operating model change and technology implementation (in partnership with Technology), with strong focus on end-to-end process integrity and measurable client/service outcomes.
- Hold workstream leads and key stakeholders accountable for delivery, intervening when delivery is at risk, removing impediments, and resolving cross-functional conflicts across Business, Operations, Technology, Risk, Finance and Compliance.
- Shape and deliver the target operating model (TOM) and implementation roadmap, translating business drivers into pragmatic design choices aligned to enterprise architecture, technology strategy and operational readiness needs.
- Lead risk, control and compliance outcomes, ensuring audit-ready control artefacts, effective operational readiness and cutover, and sustainable embedding of change into BAU across onshore/offshore teams and partners.
To be successful you will need:
- Strong experience delivering large-scale, complex transformation programmes across front-to-back GTS processes (e.g., Product, Operations, Technology, Product Control, Risk/Controls), with a proven record of delivery accountability.
- Demonstrated delivery of business, regulatory and/or technology change, with clear understanding of operating model impacts, transition planning and readiness.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional, multi-location teams and drive outcomes through others, including delivery, budget, risk and governance disciplines.
- Strong capability in executive stakeholder management, including steering committee engagement and producing decision-grade materials (options, trade-offs, recommendations).
- Strong discipline in planning, prioritisation and change control (scope/schedule/budget), supported by robust delivery assurance and reporting.
- Strong risk and control mindset, including identification, ownership, management and reporting aligned to HSBC taxonomy; able to operate in an audit-ready manner.
- Broad enterprise perspective, able to translate strategy into executable plans across people, process, data and technology.
- Degree (or equivalent practical experience).
Desirable
- Familiarity with HSBC ways of working, values and governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of Trade and experience applying Value Stream leadership in enterprise governance contexts.
