Job summary
The Security Engineer supports Dell Mission Operations by designing, implementing, and sustaining secure technical solutions in a classified environment. This role is responsible for embedding security into system design, hardening platforms, supporting authorization activities, and resolving vulnerabilities in partnership with engineering and operations teams. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, security engineering discipline, and the ability to translate requirements into practical, supportable controls.
Key responsibilities
· Engineer security controls into systems, infrastructure, and integration workflows
· Support RMF implementation, accreditation, and authorization activities
· Perform hardening, secure configuration, and STIG compliance actions
· Assess vulnerabilities, coordinate remediation, and verify corrective actions
· Produce and maintain technical security documentation and artifacts
· Support system assessments, control validation, and audit responses
· Partner with platform, network, and operations teams to improve security posture
· Recommend technical improvements that reduce risk without disrupting mission execution
Required qualifications
· Experience in security engineering, cybersecurity architecture, or secure systems integration
· Experience with RMF, STIGs, hardening standards, and vulnerability management
· Knowledge of Windows, Linux, network, or platform security concepts
· Ability to document technical controls and support accreditation efforts
· Strong troubleshooting and cross-team collaboration skills
· Active TS/SCI and ability to maintain access as required by the program
Preferred qualifications
· Experience with ACAS, SCAP, SIEM, or compliance automation tools
· Experience with scripting or automation to support security workflows
· Security certification such as Security+, CISSP, CASP+, or equivalent
· Experience supporting classified or government mission environments
· Exposure to cloud, container, or DevSecOps security practices
