We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Benefit Data Analyst to join our Benefit Design Data team at Surest. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality of our plan design data as we grow in a rapidly changing environment. This role is incredibly important as we strive for a "100%25" quality mindset.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and confirm the quality of plan design data across multiple platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop and maintain strong relationships
- Adapt solutions to unique problems with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment
- Utilize strong written and analytical skills to communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Build and improve tools that ensure data is checked for quality and accuracy
- Use SQL and other database languages to write queries that extract necessary data from database tables for Benefit Design team analysis

Required Qualifications:
- Background in a quantative field such as Math, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science or Ecomomics
- 1+ years of healthcare experience in a data-focused role
- 1+ years of experience leveraging SQL (or similar language) to query databases
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power Query (tables, pivot tables, functions and lookup formulas)
- Experience writing SQL queries and understanding of database structures.
- Experience reading and interpreting JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) files
- Experience managing competing priorities with varying deadlines
- Experience developing and maintaining relationships with cross-functional partners
- Experience adapting solutions to unique problems with little oversight
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment where problems and their solutions are not always cut and dry
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience creating dashboards in Looker and/or Power BI

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $60,200 - $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
