Job Description: Project Manager – Networking, Low Voltage & Wireless (Remote)

Position Overview:

We are looking for a technically advanced Remote Project Manager to lead the design and implementation of sophisticated networking and security infrastructures. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Ubiquiti ecosystems, encompassing WiFi Access Point (WAP) deployments, Access Control, and CCTV (Cloud/On-Prem). This role requires a unique blend of high-level project management using Zoho Projects and deep technical knowledge of BICSI-standard structured cabling and Point-to-Point (P2P) wireless bridging. You will lead field teams remotely, ensuring that wireless coverage is optimized, wired backbones are robust, and security systems are seamlessly integrated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wireless Infrastructure Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of WiFi deployments, from initial predictive heatmaps and site surveys to the mounting, configuration, and tuning of Access Points (WAPs).
  • CCTV & Security Integration: Manage the installation of both Cloud-based (SaaS) and On-Premise (NVR/DVR) surveillance systems, ensuring proper storage calculations and network bandwidth allocation.
  • Full-Stack Ubiquiti Oversight: Act as the technical lead for UniFi deployments (Wireless, Switching, Routing), UniFi Access (Readers, Hubs, Electric Strikes), and UniFi Protect.
  • P2P & Wireless Backhaul: Design and manage Point-to-Point (P2P) and PTMP links to extend network connectivity across campuses or between buildings where trenching fiber is not feasible.
  • Blueprint & CAD Interpretation: Read and annotate floor plans and site blueprints to determine cable paths, firewalls, and optimal placement for APs and cameras to minimize interference and "dead zones."
  • Standards & Quality Control: Enforce strict adherence to BICSI standards for all low-voltage work, including rack cable management, labeling, and CAT6/Fiber certification testing.
  • Zoho Workflow Management: Utilize Zoho Projects as the "single source of truth" for all project milestones, task dependencies, document storage, and technician scheduling.

Technical Qualifications:

  • WiFi & RF Expertise: Deep understanding of 2.4GHz/5GHz/6GHz frequencies, SSID/VLAN segmentation, roaming protocols (802.11k/r/v), and interference mitigation in high-density environments.
  • Networking & Structured Cabling: Expert knowledge of CAT6/6A and Fiber Optic (Single-mode/Multi-mode) infrastructure, including splicing and OTDR testing protocols.
  • CCTV Architectures: Proficiency in managing IP-based camera systems, including understanding bitrates, frame rates, and the differences between local NVR storage and cloud-retention models.
  • P2P Wireless: Experience with outdoor wireless bridging (e.g., Ubiquiti airMAX, airFiber, or 60GHz Wave technology).
  • Physical Security: Familiarity with low-voltage door hardware, strikes, and maglocks in an Access Control context.

Software & Mastery:

  • Zoho Suite: Advanced proficiency in Zoho Projects (Gantt charts, milestones, and time tracking) and Zoho Cliq. Familiarity with Zoho CRM and Zoho Books is a major plus.
  • WiFi Design Tools: Experience with Ubiquiti Design Center, Ekahau, or NetSpot for predictive wireless planning.
  • Documentation: Ability to review and approve Fluke LinkWare reports and CCTV coverage maps.

Requirements

Remote Work Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing field technicians and subcontractors in a 100% remote capacity.
  • Expertise in "Remote Eyes" management—using video calls and photo submissions to audit site quality.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of organization and meet deadlines without direct physical supervision.

Preferred Experience & Certifications:

  • Industry Experience: 5+ years in Low Voltage, Telecommunications, or MSP Project Management.
  • Certifications: BICSI (RCDD/Installer), PMP, or Ubiquiti certifications (UWA, UEWA, UWA).
  • Education: Degree in Information Technology, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.

Benefits

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to work with cutting-edge Ubiquiti hardware and lead a digitally forward-thinking team using the latest Zoho automation tools.
  • Advancement within the company
  • Exposure to a variety of technology for ongoing learning and experience
