Job DetailsJob Location: Gridley, IL - Gridley, IL 61744Salary Range: $19.00 - $21.00 HourlyThe QA Technician assures products are produced and manufactured in a safe manner. Evaluate samples and verify GMP/Quality processes are being used to assure quality products are being shipped to Watershed Food customers. Key tasks and responsibilities: · Conduct standardized tests/audits throughout various stages of production to ensure factors meet ingredient, in-process, and finished product requirements for internal standards, customer specifications, and legal regulations. · Record test data, such as weight, temperature, moisture content, color, aeration, consistency, quality and quantity, which is inspected or graded. · Propose process improvement recommendations regarding handling of ingredients, product-in-process, and finished product which affect product quality. · Communicate product quality or processing equipment problems to the operators and management to eliminate any irregularities in future production batches. · Review production documents and process checklists for completeness and accuracy. Notify Shift Supervisors and/or Quality Management of employee record keeping issues. · Role model, reinforce, and train employees on GMPs, and notify supervisor and manager if GMPs are not followed. · Maintain a clean work area (floors, equipment, and workstation) at all times to avoid product contamination and safety. · Clean and maintain product testing equipment for accuracy of measurement. · Assist other team members with their work responsibilities as needed. · Perform other duties as assigned. · Serves as back-up (with Quality Assurance Manager) for Quality Assurance Supervisor when supervisor is absent. QualificationsSkills Required: · Detail-oriented and attentive to written instructions and processes. · Adept in listening, teaching, and firmly and appropriately correcting improper food handling techniques. · Ability to work and quickly learn in fast-paced environment. · Dependable and consistent in holding self to high standards. · Exceptionally observant of changes in product quality · Computer experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is strongly preferred.
