The Role:

Forge’s Quality Engineering team’s charter is to improve product quality. The Manager, Quality Engineering will lead a team of Quality Engineers responsible for building and executing quality strategies across Forge’s product and platform teams. This leader will stay close to delivery while coaching the team, improving testing practices, driving automation, partnering with Engineering, Product, Design, Information Security, and business stakeholders, and helping Forge ship reliable, compliant, and customer-focused product experiences.

Location: This role requires 2-3 days a week in office in Soho, NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Quality Engineers while supporting career development, team health, and performance management.
  • Build and drive comprehensive test strategies for complex product, platform, data, and financial trading workflows.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, Information Security, and business stakeholders from project initiation to identify requirement gaps, design risks, failure modes, and test coverage needs.
  • Help developers and cross-functional teams shift testing left by embedding quality practices earlier in the software development lifecycle.
  • Guide automation strategy across UI, API, contract, data, E2E, load, and performance testing, prioritizing the highest-value and highest-risk coverage.
  • Improve existing test automation frameworks and CI/CD integration so testing supports faster, safer, and more reliable releases.
  • Identify defect trends, drive root-cause analysis, and partner with engineering teams to improve code quality and reduce repeat issues.
  • Develop clear documentation, dashboards, and quality reporting that give stakeholders visibility into release readiness, risks, and quality health.
  • Evaluate and apply AI-enabled testing practices where they improve the impact, coverage, or efficiency of quality engineering work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of software testing, quality engineering, SDET, or related engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of experience leading, managing, or mentoring quality engineers or cross-functional quality efforts.
  • Experience owning quality strategy for large, complex, customer-facing systems.
  • Experience with test automation across UI, API, contract, data, E2E, load, or performance testing.
  • Experience enhancing test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, K6, or similar tools.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated testing into delivery workflows.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to partner across Product, Engineering, Design, Security, and business teams.
  • FinTech, trading, financial services, or regulated industry experience.
  • Physical requirements: operate a computer for 8 hours per day; give and receive detailed information through verbal and written communication

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing distributed, offshore, or nearshore quality engineering teams.
  • Experience with data applications, ETL testing, data pipeline testing, or validation of analytics/data products.
  • Experience with AI-enabled testing, agentic automation, MCPs, RAG applications, or other AI-assisted quality practices.
  • Experience building quality dashboards, test health metrics, release readiness reporting, or executive-level quality summaries.
  • Experience at high-growth or growth-stage companies where speed, quality, and operational discipline must be balanced.
  • Experience developing with TypeScript, Node, or similar modern application technologies.

For residents of New York, New York the annual salary range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000+ annual bonus. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, bonus, and other factors
