Job Description:
L3Harris has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate for this position will be proficient in most aspects of the systems engineering process, will have direct experience designing and testing complex systems, and will be comfortable coordinating and leading teams of technical personnel. The ideal candidate will know D5 missile, SSP culture, and Trident Flight Test program.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as technical lead for Systems Engineering team.
- Lead, direct and review the work of direct report(s) to accomplish near-term operational plans and results.
- Provide input on hiring, firing, promotion, performance and/or compensation decisions.
- Communicate within and outside systems engineering to explain and gain cooperation on policies and practices.
- Provide mentoring to less experienced Systems Engineers.
- Perform systems engineering duties for multiple systems simultaneously.
- Direct experience with SSP SPALT, PAD, Coordination Drawing, and Ordnance Document process.
- Direct experience working on SSP Flight Instrumentation Systems such as Radar, Telemetry, Communication systems etc.
- Contribute to and present during customer design reviews.
- Contribute to proposal activities.
- Must have the ability to travel 25%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 9 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 7 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Active US Secret Security Clearance and eligible for Top Secret Clearance.
- 5+ years of direct experience working with at least two of the following technologies: Underwater Acoustics, Telemetry, Communications, Optics, and Radar.
- 5+ years of experience in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, tactics, and employees within a team.
- Must have the ability to travel 25%.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Typically has strong knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
- Knowledge of SSP Systems Engineering processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with DOORS requirements management software.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Ability to interpret drawings, schematics and cabling diagrams.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, drive, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is Min 127,500.00 - $236,500.00 Max. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
