ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY
An Electrical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating electrical projects from inception to completion. They play a crucial role in the successful execution of our projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, schedule creation, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
- Budget Management: Create and manage project budgets/estimates, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
- Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, CSA Canadian Electrical Code and industry standards.
- Client Communication: Effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project goals are met.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet specifications.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and enforce safety protocols on the job site.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve project issues and challenges in a timely manner.
EDUCATION / COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- Post-secondary education in Electrical Technology or Equivalent combination of education, trade experience, and project management experience.
- PMP Certification or related diploma in project management or related experience.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations
- Proficiency in relevant software tools: JDE, Procore
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in the construction industry is preferred:
- Red Seal Electrician
- Construction Management
- 5 years’ experience in the electrical ICI sector combined with supervisory and/or superintendents’ role
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Contract management
- Construction scheduling, planning, and execution
- Estimation of small to medium scale projects or change orders.
- Blueprint reading
- Project structural design interpretation
- Business operations processes
- Organization and time management
- Willing and able to travel within New Brunswick
- Must be able to obtain a Level II Secret Clearance
Intermediate user of:
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
- JD Edwards or an Oracle-based ERP system would be an asset
- Procore
The expected salary range for this role is between $70,000 - $85,000 per year.
The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as group insurance benefits, pension plan, annual discretionary bonus, career development programs, and other HR programs.
