Full description
ImagineX is a tech company that deploys AI-assisted teams to build and secure mission-critical enterprise solutions with our clients – spanning software, data, and AI. Structured like a software company, not a traditional consultancy, we blend deep technical expertise with authentic values, achieving world-class satisfaction (NPS 91). Our dedicated teams specialize in software, data, and AI across the U.S. and LATAM, bridging the gap between boutique agility and enterprise scale.
This is a full-time, Columbus, OH–based position that requires onsite visits with the client 5 days a week.
ImagineX is seeking a proactive, hands-on engineer/technical project manager to run our DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) projects. In this role, you will combine a strong technical engineering background with natural leadership capabilities, driving operational excellence through three core pillars: CI/CD automation & code quality, observability & metrics, and comprehensive engineering management.
Core Focus Areas:
- CI/CD Pipelines & Code Quality: Spearhead pipeline automation, release engineering, and deployment strategies while ensuring engineering teams adhere to proper coding standards, maintain clean architecture, and implement robust automation frameworks.
- Observability & Metrics: Drive data-driven reliability by establishing and overseeing advanced observability frameworks—including metrics, logging, tracing, and SLO/SLI tracking—to proactively detect issues and optimize system performance.
- Engineering Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Leverage your deep engineering experience to manage, mentor, and organize high-performing technical teams, applying strong project management rigor while seamlessly bridging technical execution with executive and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:• Engineering & Team Management: Direct management of DevOps and SRE engineers. Drive performance management, career development, resource allocation, and day-to-day organization/project management.
- CI/CD & Technical Oversight: Oversee the architecture and setup of robust CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure modernization, ensuring engineering teams maintain proper coding practices and technical rigor.
- Observability & Reliability Frameworks: Champion system visibility by architecting comprehensive observability, monitoring, and metrics solutions to ensure high availability and rapid incident response.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Act as the primary technical liaison between client leadership, executive sponsors, and the core delivery team. Translate complex engineering concepts into clear business outcomes for non-technical stakeholders while managing expectations and removing blockers.
- Practice Growth & Delivery Proactivity: Proactively identify delivery risks, architectural bottlenecks, and opportunities for continuous improvement across software, data, and AI solutions.
Qualifications & Experience• Engineering & Technical Background: 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience in software, DevOps, or SRE, combined with leadership in technical program management or engineering management.
- CI/CD & Coding Expertise: Demonstrated experience designing, setting up, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, paired with a strong understanding of proper coding standards, code quality, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Observability Mastery: Deep familiarity with modern observability stacks, metrics-driven monitoring, telemetry, logging, and tracing tools (e.g., Prometheus, Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
- Stakeholder & People Leadership: Exceptional organizational and communication skills with a proven track record of leading technical teams and successfully interfacing with both technical engineers and non-technical business stakeholders.
- Proactive Drive: Self-starter mindset with the ability to build structure out of ambiguity, champion best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives independently.
