Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.
Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) is seeking an Operations Support / Systems Engineer (Junior to Mid-Level) to support the daily operational execution and monitoring of the PGG Special Access Program / Controlled Access Program (SAP/CAP) IT footprint. Working as part of a dedicated Operations team, this role helps eliminate mission partner hesitancy and prevents mission degradation by delivering continuous fault and performance monitoring, supporting incident triage and root cause analysis (RCA), assisting with asset tracking, and contributing to system and network optimization across hybrid UNIX and Windows enterprise environments during training exercises and live operations
Responsibilities
- Provide daily systems engineering and operational support for enterprise IT infrastructure, hardware/software assets, and monitoring capabilities across UNIX and Windows environments.
- Execute continuous fault and performance monitoring using Enterprise Management (EM) standard tools to ensure high availability during training exercises and live missions.
- Assist in the integration, configuration, and optimization of enterprise monitoring tools, automated incident ticketing workflows, and email alerting pipelines.
- Support rapid incident triage, log system outages and Discrepancy Reports (DRs), and assist in drafting Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and After-Action Reports (AARs).
- Analyze system workflows, tools, and infrastructure (routers, switches, bridges, SAN, network security) to identify gaps and assist in developing architectural, network, and data flow diagrams.
- Support data aggregation, analysis, and visualization efforts to improve system visibility, contributing to the enhancement of operational dashboards and stakeholder metrics.
- Provide technical input and assist with system modernization, network optimization, and configuration baseline tracking alongside cybersecurity and engineering teams.
- Support the preparation of operational briefings, technical reports, and presentations for customer, contract, and vendor meetings.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and operational stakeholders across multiple mission partner organizations.
- Perform other mission-related operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years relevant experience OR
- Associate’s Degree and 4+ years relevant experience OR
- 6+ years relevant experience
- Operational experience with ServiceNow
- Experience in the Intelligence Community
- DoD 8140 (formerly 8570.01-M), IAT Level I
- Security+ CE (within 6 months)
- TS/SCI Clearance
- Successfully pass background and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in relevant field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to obtain CI Poly Clearance
- Ability to help support “Special Projects” as identified by Government Customer.
- Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
- Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment

- Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
- Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired.
- Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
