Data and Reporting Senior Analyst - IND

Description

Role: The Foxtel Group is transforming how we use data, AI and machine learning to make better decisions. We have the richest content viewing data set in Australia with detailed viewing stats of 5+ million subscribers across Sports, Entertainment and News.

Your success in this role will hinge on your ability to deeply understand Foxtel’s data landscape and be able to develop, query, iterate and execute our data objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Key deliverables

  • Mentor junior staff and provide coaching and technical leadership.
  • Provide time-critical outputs of audience and Ratings metrics and relevant comparisons, for example year-on-year or “3rd highest viewership for this event ever”
  • Perform planned and ad-hoc complex data analysis and reporting tasks.
  • Maintain Foxtel Group’s data environments, including the creation & management of relevant datasets.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reporting processes.
  • Maintain effective data governance and management processes, including metadata, data security, quality, classification, and privacy.
  • Monitor data and Tableau failures and resolve where appropriate or liaise with the right teams for resolution and escalations.
  • Work on a rolling schedule between IST (Indian Standard Time) night shift, IST morning shift and IST day shift that is shared between team members.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Key Skills & Experience

Experience: 

  • At least 6 – 8 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience in data, reporting and analytics roles.
  • Working with star schema data warehouse environments.
  • Working with very large data set (many billions of records)
  • Working with visualisation tools such as Tableau (preferred), Power BI or Looker.
  • Mentoring junior staff. 
  • Experience working with audience and viewership data.

Skills

We expect that you will have the following skills:

  • Excellent communication skills - an open and collaborative communicator with proven ability to influence outcomes based on clear and concise messaging.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and business process.
  • Strong technical skillset in developing, optimising and testing SQL code.
  • Strong technical skillset in one or more visualisation tools such as Tableau (preferred), Power BI or Looker.
  • Display strong numerical, critical analysis and problem-solving skills.
