This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Network Security Engineer based in India.
This role focuses on protecting enterprise network infrastructure through a combination of cybersecurity, network engineering, vulnerability management, and automation. You’ll help identify and remediate security risks across complex networking environments while improving security controls and operational efficiency. The position offers broad exposure to enterprise, cloud, datacenter, edge, and operational technology environments. You’ll work closely with infrastructure, information security, cloud, and operations teams to strengthen network resilience and reduce attack surfaces. Automation will be a key part of the role, helping transform repetitive security processes into scalable workflows. You’ll also contribute to network segmentation, zero-trust initiatives, compliance, and incident response in a technically diverse environment.

Accountabilities
• Lead vulnerability management activities across routers, switches, firewalls, SD-WAN, wireless infrastructure, and cloud networking platforms.
• Analyze vulnerability assessment results using tools such as Qualys and similar platforms, prioritizing remediation based on risk, exploitability, business impact, and asset criticality.
• Manage remediation timelines, SLA compliance, exceptions, and risk acceptance while developing vulnerability reporting and security KPI metrics.
• Identify recurring vulnerability patterns and implement sustainable corrective actions to strengthen the overall security posture.
• Design and maintain network security automation using Ansible, Python, PowerShell, REST APIs, and orchestration platforms.
• Automate firewall policy reviews, rule lifecycle management, configuration validation, compliance checks, and security hardening activities.
• Integrate vulnerability management, CMDB, ticketing, monitoring, and other security platforms through APIs and automated workflows.
• Implement and maintain secure network segmentation architectures across enterprise, cloud, datacenter, edge, and OT environments.
• Define firewall zoning strategies, security policies, access control standards, network security baselines, and operational procedures.
• Support IT/OT convergence and zero-trust network architecture initiatives, including microsegmentation where applicable.
• Support firewall management, intrusion detection, secure remote access, and network access control technologies.
• Partner with security teams during incident investigations and threat response activities, as well as audits, compliance assessments, and security reviews.
• Continuously identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve security operations through repeatable, scalable automation.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience and 3+ years of cybersecurity or network security experience.
• Strong experience with network segmentation, firewall policy design, vulnerability remediation, and enterprise security engineering.
• Solid networking knowledge covering routing and switching technologies such as Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, or equivalent platforms.
• Experience with SD-WAN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and wireless networking.
• Hands-on knowledge of enterprise firewalls such as Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience with Network Access Control (NAC), IDS/IPS, zero-trust principles, security architecture, and risk management.
• Experience with vulnerability management platforms such as Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of vulnerability prioritization, remediation workflows, security metrics, and compliance reporting.
• Hands-on automation experience with Ansible, Python, PowerShell, REST APIs, Git, and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across infrastructure, information security, cloud, OT engineering, and operations teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate security risks into practical remediation strategies.
• Experience automating network and security operations is an advantage.
• Experience with industrial or OT networking environments, microsegmentation, or IT/OT convergence is a plus.
• Experience securing cloud networking environments across Azure, AWS, or GCP is beneficial.
• Experience integrating security tools through APIs and automated workflows is an advantage.
