Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial electrical construction projects for a well-established electrical contractor serving clients throughout Connecticut.
In this role, you will manage projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has a proven background in commercial electrical construction, strong leadership skills, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects while building lasting client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from contract award through final completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and labor forecasts.
- Coordinate field personnel, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and change orders to support successful project delivery.
- Track project costs, prepare financial forecasts, and maintain overall project profitability.
- Lead project meetings and communicate progress, schedules, budgets, and potential risks.
- Resolve construction challenges, coordinate design clarifications, and oversee project commissioning and closeout.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, electrical codes, contract requirements, and company quality standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction.
- Current Connecticut electrical license required.
- Previous experience working for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor.
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, and construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience with project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated success managing projects from preconstruction through final completion.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to start within the next month is preferred.
