Salesforce Developer (Fundraising)

The Salesforce Developer- Fundraising will serve as the Senior Salesforce expert for the team managing Salesforce NPSP for the Office of Development at NewYork-Presbyterian. In this role, the Developer will lead the design and execution of the team’s development strategy in close partnership with the Product Owner. The role requires a hands‑on mindset and spans work across administration, development, mentorship and day‑to‑day operational support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full development lifecycle for the org, ensuring solutions are secure, optimized for performance, and built to scale
  • Build and maintain solutions of diverse complexity with a declarative first mindset
  • Lead solution reviews to assess features built by the team and provide feedback
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Articulate design considerations, trade-offs and benefits to the team while planning new solutions
  • Review Salesforces' 3x releases and ad-hoc product notifications and prepare the org for compliance
  • Advise on and contribute to DevOps processes in Copado and Azure
  • Evaluate new integrations and install and maintain managed packages
  • Work with the team to troubleshoot issues

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. No relocation assistance is available.

Preferred Criteria

  • Bachelor's Degree with a major in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Certification: Platform Developer II
  • Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) or Nonprofit Cloud experience
  • Experience leading/mentoring junior Administrators and Developers

Required Criteria

  • 6-8 years of work experience on the Salesforce platform
  • Certifications: Platform Developer, Platform Administrator II, Platform Administration
  • Strong communication, collaboration and documentation skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience designing and developing complex Salesforce solutions, preferably within NPSP
  • Experience designing and developing complex and secure features using: Flows, Apex, SOQL / SOSL, Visualforce and Lightning Web Components
  • Experience using DevOps platforms such as Copado or Gearset
  • Experience working as part of an Agile Scrum team
  • Ability to convert business needs into technical requirements
  • Experience working with internal ETL and Integration teams to deliver solutions and troubleshoot issues
  • Experience installing and managing third party integrations with Salesforce
