Full description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee large-scale commercial and multifamily construction projects throughout the Memphis area. This opportunity is with an established commercial general contractor and offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex projects from preconstruction and planning through construction, turnover, and final closeout.

The ideal candidate has a strong general contracting background, significant experience managing complex commercial or multifamily projects, and a proven ability to lead project teams while maintaining control of budgets, schedules, contracts, subcontractors, and client relationships.

Responsibilities• Manage commercial and multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout

  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, cost forecasts, procurement plans, and execution strategies
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, submittals, and other project documentation
  • Lead subcontractor procurement, contract negotiations, vendor coordination, and change order management
  • Monitor project financials, costs, forecasts, and profitability while identifying and mitigating potential risks
  • Partner closely with Superintendents and field leadership to resolve construction challenges and maintain project schedules
  • Coordinate project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders throughout the construction process
  • Ensure projects meet contractual requirements, quality standards, safety expectations, and applicable building codes
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, forecasts, schedules, and client communications
  • Lead, mentor, and develop project team members while promoting accountability and collaboration
  • Manage multiple priorities and complex project requirements in a fast-paced construction environment
  • 8–10+ years of commercial or multifamily construction project management experience preferred
  • Candidates with 5–6+ years of strong, relevant experience may be considered if they have successfully managed large or complex projects
  • Experience working for a commercial general contractor or construction management firm required
  • Proven experience managing large commercial or multifamily projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, procurement, contracts, and change orders
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and client relationship skills
  • Proficiency with construction project management software and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to effectively coordinate project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and field operations
  • Local Memphis-area candidates strongly preferred
  • Candidates with experience limited to single-family residential construction or small-scale projects will not be considered
  • Must successfully complete professional reference checks and a pre-employment drug screening
