At Alstom, we build what millions depend on daily - rail transportation systems that can’t afford to fail. We’re more than 85 000 people worldwide creating the industry most diverse portfolio: high-speed trains, metros, trams, maintenance services and integrated systems.

More than a job: a mission

We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager based in Brisbane to be part of a major ETCS Level 2 signalling project for Queensland. You’ll work alongside people who show up with ownership, passion, and dedication — because they know what’s at stake: the journey home. You will be responsible for the following:

Your role, your impact

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of the ETCS scope, ensuring project outcomes are achieved safely, on time, within budget and to quality standards.
  • Manage and motivate multidisciplinary project teams, including internal stakeholders and external delivery partners.
  • Drive project governance, contract administration, risk management and change control in line with contractual and business requirements.
  • Maintain accountability for project financial performance, including Profit & Loss (P&L) management.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, contractors and key stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor project performance, manage critical issues and provide clear reporting to senior leadership.
  • Oversee engineering, procurement and delivery activities to achieve programme milestones and contractual objectives.
  • Champion continuous improvement, safety and operational excellence across the project lifecycle.

You’ll work with sharp, committed teams across Altom — solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility.

What you bring

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale rail, signalling, infrastructure or engineering projects in a project management leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of project delivery, contract management, commercial governance, risk management and change control.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams, contractors and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including budget management and P&L accountability.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to lead high-performing teams, influence stakeholders and drive project outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
  • Experience with ETCS, signalling systems or major rail projects will be highly regarded.

Alstom, a great place to grow

Perks & Benefits

  • A diverse role, supporting a major rail project.
  • Up to 3 additional leave days per year.
  • 18 weeks paid parental leave.
  • Volunteering leave.
  • Diversity & Inclusion employee network groups.
  • Purchased annual leave and a novated leasing scheme.
  • Independent and confidential wellbeing support for you and your family.
  • Our investment in your development, through award-winning learning.
  • Stability, challenges and a long-term career enabling you to steer your progression in whatever direction you choose.

Here, progress isn’t always easy — the scale is massive, the tasks are complex — but the impact is real. Because when the system runs, the train moves, and the city connects — that feeling stays with you. And the legacy lasts.
