The Transaction Platform team powers Grab’s multi-billion-dollar Deliveries business across Southeast Asia. We build the core platforms that orchestrate every order, payment, refund, dispute, and merchant transaction at massive scale. Our mission is to deliver a trusted, resilient, and efficient commerce platform that balances customer experience, merchant trust, and sustainable business growth.
Get to Know the Role 
As a Principal Product Manager, you will define the long-term vision and strategy for Grab’s merchant transaction platform. You’ll lead the evolution of mission-critical systems that power millions of orders daily, working at the intersection of distributed systems, financial integrity, and large-scale operational workflows. This is a highly strategic platform role, requiring deep technical judgment, systems thinking, and the ability to influence engineering, business, and operational leaders across the region.
Key responsibilities
- Define Platform Strategy: Own the long-term product vision and roadmap for Grab’s merchant transaction platform, driving architectural investments that enable scale, reliability, and future business growth.
- Build High-Scale Platform Capabilities: Design and launch foundational platform services spanning order lifecycle management, merchant operations, dispute resolution, and transactional integrity.
- Solve Complex Platform Problems: Lead cross-functional initiatives to simplify complex multi-party workflows, ensuring accurate, reliable, and resilient transaction processing across the ecosystem.
- Drive Operational Excellence: Develop intelligent platform capabilities that reduce merchant downtime, improve operational governance, and recover merchant demand through smarter automation, permissions, auditing, and risk controls.
- Influence Across the Organization: Partner with engineering, operations, finance, legal, and commercial leaders to align technical investments with business priorities and drive execution across multiple teams.
Qualifications
Essential Skills
- At least 8 years of Product Management experience, with significant ownership of large-scale platform products such as transaction processing, payments, commerce platforms, order management, financial systems, or distributed backend infrastructure.
- Strong technical and systems thinking, with the ability to understand complex architectures, reason about distributed systems, and make sound platform trade-offs.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, using data, experimentation, and technical insights to identify opportunities and guide product decisions.
- Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence senior leaders and align diverse cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, finance, legal, and commercial organizations.
