Java Software Engineer – Market Risk Technology

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Java-based applications supporting Market Risk.

• Contribute to complex projects and strategic technology initiatives.

• Design and architect scalable, secure and high-performance solutions.

• Work with large relational databases and optimize complex queries.

• Participate in code reviews, design discussions and knowledge sharing.

• Apply software engineering best practices and design patterns.

• Maintain and enhance existing applications and improve their performance.

• Support production environments and BAU requests.

• Collaborate with global stakeholders and contribute to the technical roadmap.

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical guidance.

• Evaluate and adopt new technologies, tools and automation solutions.

• Explore and leverage AI agents and automation tools throughout software development, testing/validation and production deployment.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring and relational databases.

• Strong object-oriented design and development skills.

• Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms and design patterns.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with relational database logical modelling.

• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large relational databases.

• Experience with JUnit and unit testing.

• Ability to write scripts using Shell and/or Python.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work independently and follow established coding standards.

• Experience working in an international/global environment is an advantage.
