Overview
For the role of Commercial Project Manager, Bangalore, Lutron seeks a highly experienced and technically proficient professional with a proven track record of delivering large-scale lighting controls, shading systems, and smart building projects.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and strong commercial and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage complex projects from solution design through commissioning and post-occupancy support. This role requires a proactive individual who can navigate technical, operational, and customer challenges, drive cross-functional collaboration, and ensure successful project outcomes while maximizing customer satisfaction, service revenue growth, and long-term client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex Lutron lighting control, shading, and smart building projects, ensuring successful execution from design through commissioning and handover.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, resources, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies to achieve customer milestones and quality standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, building trusted relationships with owners, developers, consultants, contractors, and facility teams.
- Design and oversee customized lighting and controls solutions that align with client requirements, operational goals, and industry best practices.
- Manage commercial activities including proposals, contract negotiations, project profitability, and service agreements.
- Own customer satisfaction and retention through regular business reviews, proactive issue resolution, and continuous engagement.
- Drive service revenue growth by identifying upgrade, retrofit, maintenance, and expansion opportunities while maintaining a healthy sales pipeline.
- Partner with Finance and Audit teams to ensure compliance with revenue recognition requirements, contract documentation, and financial reporting standards.
- Oversee service billing and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, payment collection, and account reconciliation.
- Evaluate, onboard, and manage system integrators, contractors, and service partners, ensuring adherence to Lutron quality and delivery standards.
- Develop and deliver training, coaching, and capability-building programs for partner project managers and delivery teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Customer Success, Field Services, and Operations to resolve risks, address capability gaps, and ensure successful customer outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10-12 years of experience in project management, specifically within the infrastructure sector.
- Proven track record of managing large and complex projects.
- Advanced commercial and contract negotiation skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
