Role Overview
- Position Summary:
- As a Senior Business Analyst, this role will be responsible for performing business requirement gathering for one or more region, with deep focus on complex travel insurance products and processes. This role will be working directly with various business groups and IT teams within Chubb to ensure appropriate solutions are put in place to support the requirements of both internal and external users.
- The Senior Business Analyst will be involved from initial scoping, discovery, and documentation of requirements right through the post implementation and continuous improvements.
- This role is expected to double-hat as Product Owner (PO) where required — owning and prioritizing the product backlog, representing business intent in Agile ceremonies, and bridging the gap between business stakeholders and the delivery team.
- The Senior Business Analyst will leverage AI tools and techniques to enhance requirements analysis, documentation efficiency, and stakeholder communication.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Define, estimate, and plan detailed approach to analysis work streams.
- Facilitation of requirements gathering workshops or discovery, including complex travel insurance product discussions involving multi-layered coverage rules, policy lifecycle, claims triggers, and regulatory requirements.
- Understand the business domain / needs and help convert those into effective IT solutions, with the ability to rapidly onboard and navigate complex travel insurance domain knowledge including policy administration, claims, and distribution channels.
- Collaborate with BAs and other technical and non-technical resources to ensure holistic and complete solutions.
- Capture detailed requirements from business users and stakeholders. Document these requirements into User Stories and/or Business Specifications for review and approval by business customers.
- Provide on-site support and management of User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Provide peer reviews.
- Ensures that change management processes are adhered to.
- Provides business logic recommendations and solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Support Testing processes (both IT and business testing).
- Work with users to establish best practice principles.
- Play an active role in all phases of the project lifecycle, encompassing planning, functional design, development, testing, user liaison, training, deployment planning and execution, and end-user support.
- Manage diverse and demanding stakeholders across business, IT, and regional teams — including navigating conflicting priorities, resistance to change, and ambiguous requirements from difficult or senior stakeholders.
- Apply structured conflict resolution and negotiation techniques to align stakeholders on scope, priority, and solution direction.
- Build trusted relationships with business owners, product sponsors, and regional leads to ensure sustained engagement and timely decision-making.
- Proactively communicate progress, risks, and blockers to stakeholders at the appropriate level of detail and frequency.
- Facilitate difficult conversations and workshops where stakeholder alignment is absent, driving toward consensus without losing business value.
- Double-hat as Product Owner when required: own and maintain the product backlog, define and prioritize User Stories, and ensure the backlog reflects current business value and strategic intent.
- Represent the voice of the business in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap to the development team and stakeholders.
- Make timely product decisions during development to unblock the team while preserving business intent.
- Accept or reject sprint deliverables based on agreed acceptance criteria; ensure Definition of Done is met.
- Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term product strategy, managing trade-offs transparently with stakeholders.
- Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate requirements elicitation, documentation drafting, and gap analysis.
- Utilize LLM-based tools for generating User Story drafts, acceptance criteria, and process flow documentation from stakeholder inputs.
- Apply AI-assisted data analysis to derive insights from business data, supporting evidence-based requirement decisions.
- Explore and advocate the use of AI tools within the BA practice to improve team efficiency and quality of deliverables.
- Stay current with AI trends relevant to insurance and financial services; identify opportunities to embed AI capabilities into business solutions.
