WHO YOU ARE 

This Darwin-based role is responsible for leading the delivery of commercial construction projects from project award through to handover, ensuring works are executed safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: 

  • A Diploma or Degree in Building & Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience delivering commercial construction projects
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction sequencing, programming and subcontractor coordination
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, compliance obligations and safety legislation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage project teams in a live construction environment
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and consultants to achieve programme outcomes
  • Proficiency in construction and project management systems such as Hammertech, Procore, MS Project, Aconex or similar
  • Strong organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Effective communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving capability
  • The ability to identify risks early and implement practical delivery solutions in a fast-paced environment

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead the delivery of construction projects in accordance with programme, budget and contract requirements.
  • Oversee day-to-day site operations with the Site Manager to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality project execution.
  • Monitor construction progress, manage sequencing and resolve delivery constraints to maintain programme outcomes.
  • Ensure HSEQ systems, management plans and statutory compliance requirements are implemented and maintained.
  • Lead procurement activities, including scope development, subcontractor engagement and package letting.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and project resources to achieve key project milestones.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate project delivery, commercial, safety and quality risks.
  • Monitor project performance and provide regular reporting on programme, cost, safety and quality outcomes.
  • Identify cost risks, variations and value opportunities arising from procurement and site delivery activities.
  • Maintain accurate project records, RFIs, variations, site instructions and delivery documentation.
  • Manage drawing registers, document control, revision management and compliance records.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance, claims, variations, compliance requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Lead commissioning, defect management, certification and project handover activities.
  • Mentor project team members, foster a collaborative culture and represent DCOH professionally in accordance with the DCOH Code of Conduct.
