JOB SUMMARY: 

The Information Technology Network Administrator / Supervisor works under the direct supervision of the IT Services Manager. This position is responsible for all aspects of corporate network management. Areas of responsibility include installation, configuration and maintenance of network hardware and software, network security, software licensing and ensuring the overall health of the network. In addition, this position will assist the IT Services Manager with identifying, selecting and evaluating outside contractors, as needed. 

 

DUTIES PERFORMED: 

  • Serves as network manager by coordinating the installation and connectivity of computer and network systems to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s IT assets. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software and communication links as well as backups to all critical IT system file servers. 
  • Ensures adequate network connectivity throughout the corporate LAN/WAN 
  • Infrastructure. Researches and resolves problems with server-related issues. 
  • Assigns network addresses, routing protocols and configures all directory services. 
  • Develops, maintains, and updates documentation of all assignments. 
  • Responsible for the assignment and management of all corporate email accounts, phone systems, and corporate mobile phones. 
  • Responsible for the setup and deployment of all servers in coordination with the IT 
  • Project Specialist and/or Information Systems Specialist as required. 
  • Maintains all network services including file servers, network printers, VPN gateways, firewalls and intrusion detection systems. 
  • Develops and performs periodic internal security compliance audits at least annually. 
  • Reports results and recommendations to the IT Services Manager. Corrects any security issues identified during the assessment. 
  • Assists the Facilities Director with the completion of an annual inventory of corporate 
  • equipment and assets. 
  • Collects required information needed to prepare the annual IT budget, cost reports, and other special reports as needed. 
  • Prepares and presents monthly/annual reports and special reports to the IT Services Manager, as required. 
  • Responsible for completion of data recovery efforts as required. 
  • Trains and supports system end users and technical staff as needed. 
  • Researches, resolves and responds to questions in a timely manner. 
  • Maintains an updated inventory list (by unit/satellite) and contacts list for assigned computer hardware/software vendors. 
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with all computer hardware/software vendors, Executive Management, supervisors and other personnel. 
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by the IT Services Manager, COO or CEO.  

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • EDUCATION: 
  • REQUIRED: 
  • Minimum of two years associate degree in computer information technology, or related field and five years of experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • PREFERRED: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer information technology or a related field and three years of experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • REQUIRED: 
  • Minimum of three years relevant progressively responsible network administrative experience.
  • Minimum of two years supervisor experience. 
  • Knowledgeable with LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, routing protocols, network devices, server configurations, and monitoring software. 
  • Experience supporting multiple geographic sites 
  • Experience Server Administration including:  
  • Installation, configuration, and upgrades Backup and recovery 
  • Performance tuning and query optimization SQL Server Agent 
  • High availability (Always On Availability Groups or Failover Clustering) 
  • Database security and permissions 
  • PREFERRED: 
  • One or more certifications in the following in a healthcare setting  
  • CompTIA Network + 
  • Cisco CCNA 
  • Azure
  • Security +
