This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer (Java and AWS) based in India.

This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career software engineer to build cloud-native applications and platform capabilities that support modern SaaS products. Working within a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) platform team, you will contribute to scalable backend services, cloud infrastructure, and automation that enable faster software delivery and reliable deployments. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and product teams to design, develop, and optimize cloud-based solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS technologies. The role offers hands-on exposure to DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code, and containerized environments while providing an excellent foundation for long-term career growth in cloud engineering.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, and enhance backend applications and platform components using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
  • Build and customize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform to automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and deployment.
  • Develop and maintain cloud-native applications and services hosted on AWS.
  • Create automated unit and integration tests that support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Contribute to containerized application deployment using Docker and Kubernetes while supporting platform reliability and scalability.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects within established service level agreements to ensure high application performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and cross-functional Agile teams to deliver new features through frequent software releases.
  • Continuously learn and adopt new technologies, development practices, and cloud capabilities to improve engineering efficiency and platform performance.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of professional experience in software development using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and AWS.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and API development principles.
  • Experience developing backend applications within a product development environment.
  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies and Infrastructure as Code concepts, with exposure to Terraform considered an advantage.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools, including Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and automated deployment practices.
  • Experience working across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention to software quality and performance.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in an Agile development environment.
  • Passion for continuous learning and building scalable cloud-native applications.
