Job Summary
The Business Systems Analyst 3 serves as the primary Maximo Functional Subject Matter Expert (SME), acting as a non-project management advisor regarding the functional use, configuration, and optimization of the Maximo Enterprise Asset Management system. This role explicitly bridges the gap between the customer's operational needs and our Maximo Systems Architect by evaluating business processes, mapping workflows, and translating end-user requirements into technical specifications. The Maximo Functional SME ensures that all proposed system enhancements align with core business objectives before they are passed to the architecture team for technical execution.
This position works directly with the Maximo Project Manager and Maximo Solutions Architect, developers, system administrators, and customer stakeholders to establish priorities, coordinate execution activities, manage risk, and ensure successful execution of all Maximo-related operational and project activities.
As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these include, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisors and the contract Program Manager, staying focused on assigned tasks, and completing other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Functional Advisory & Requirements Translation
- Act as the primary liaison and strategic translator between the customer and the Maximo Systems Architect.
- Evaluate customer workflows and business systems to translate complex, operational end-user needs into clear, functional system requirements for the architecture team.
- Serve as the core advisory resource for software capabilities, functional user requirements, and system configuration best practices tailored to Maximo.
- Provide expert recommendations on functional implementation strategies, system sustainment, and opportunities for continuous improvement within the Maximo environment.
- Onboarding & Schedule Support
- Assist the Project Manager and Systems Architect by conducting functional Level of Effort (LOE) evaluations for new customer onboarding, application enhancements, or feature upgrades.
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related technical/functional field.

○ Ability to professionally communicate with executives, customers, technical teams, and operational personnel
○ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic operational environments
● Certification: Security+ certification.
● Security Clearance: U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
- If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered
