Network Engineer (Test) - 26-034 – San Diego, CA

As a growing Department of Defense Contractor, AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting NEW opportunity for a Network Engineer to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members at NIWC PAC in the Point Loma area of San Diego, CA.

The Network Engineer will provide direct support to the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific working on the United States Marine Corps Networking on the Move (NOTM) program. Support will include the following:

  • Manage laboratory assets used to test emerging communications and networking technologies.
  • Conduct installation and configuration of networked systems to include computers, routing and switching hardware devices and protocols.
  • Establish, troubleshoot and maintain local area network connectivity for multiple security enclaves.
  • Assist in performing testing and evaluation of new equipment and systems for possible inclusion into the NOTM program.
  • Draft test plans and test reports documenting networking and communications testing.
  • Draft input to be used in Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR) for the development of prototype tactical vehicles.

  • Must possess an active Secret clearance.
  • Experience with Navy or Marine Corps IP-based networks, Wide Area Networks (WANs) and Local Area Networks (LANs) preferred.
  • Ability to draft technical documentation and provide input to presentations used to brief senior leadership.
  • Experience with NSA Type 1 encryption equipment required.
  • Experience with tactical satellite or meshing radio systems to include commercial based and military products desirable.
  • Cisco Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) experience desirable.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification required.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required (or within 90 days of hire).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical writing skills required.
  • Occasional travel. Up to 10%.

Salary Range: $105K-$115K

Based on your qualifications, you will be placed in Level I-V.

An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.
