This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Engenheiro(a) de Software Sênior Backend Python - Plataforma e Arquitetura based in Brazil.

This is a senior engineering opportunity focused on evolving the technological foundation behind products and engineering teams. You will work on architecture, scalability, reliability, performance, security, and developer experience across critical systems. The role combines hands-on backend development with technical decision-making and system design. You will design and evolve APIs, integrations, and reusable software components used by multiple products and teams. Working closely with Cloud, SRE, Security, Product, and Engineering teams, you will help solve complex technical challenges. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys improving existing systems while creating sustainable foundations for future growth. You will also contribute to engineering maturity by sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and promoting strong development practices.

Accountabilities:

• Evolve system architecture by evaluating technical solutions and their implications for scalability, maintainability, cost, performance, and reliability.

• Design, develop, and evolve backend APIs, integrations, and software components used across multiple products and engineering teams.

• Identify opportunities to optimize applications, databases, and integrations, improving performance while reducing unnecessary complexity.

• Participate in technical decisions involving architecture, engineering standards, development patterns, and the evolution of the technology stack.

• Partner with Cloud and SRE teams to improve system availability, observability, security, and operational reliability.

• Investigate and resolve complex production issues, identifying root causes and implementing structural improvements to prevent recurrence.

• Contribute to developer experience initiatives that reduce engineering friction and increase team productivity.

• Promote engineering best practices, clean and maintainable code, automated testing, and sustainable software development.

• Share technical knowledge, support other engineers, and contribute to raising the overall technical maturity of the engineering organization.

Requirements:

• Solid professional experience in backend software development using Python, with hands-on experience in frameworks such as Django and/or FastAPI.

• Proven experience building and evolving production-grade APIs and software systems.

• Strong understanding of System Design and the ability to evaluate architectural alternatives and make decisions based on technical trade-offs.

• Experience with distributed systems, service integrations, scalability, and reliability.

• Practical experience with performance analysis, troubleshooting, and the evolution of critical systems.

• Knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, query optimization, and sound persistence practices.

• Experience with automated testing, including unit, integration, and/or end-to-end testing.

• Strong understanding of architecture patterns, software development principles, and engineering best practices.

• Experience with Git and effective version-control and collaborative coding practices.

• Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions and collaborate effectively across different teams and disciplines.

• Collaborative profile with the ability to influence technical decisions, work autonomously, and contribute to the growth of other engineers.

• Ability to translate business needs into sustainable technical solutions while balancing simplicity, quality, and continuous improvement.

• Experience with microservices architecture, messaging and asynchronous processing such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, and caching technologies such as Redis is a plus.

• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code is desirable.

• Experience with observability tools and practices, including logs, metrics, tracing, Datadog, Grafana, or similar platforms, is an advantage.

• Experience working with platform engineering, architecture, or Developer Experience teams is considered a differentiator.
