Role: Tableau Specialist

Location: Perungudi, Chennai (Hybrid) - 3 Days a week at Office

Shift Time: 10.00AM - 7.00PM IST

About the role: The ideal candidate is a strong Tableau practitioner who can bring structure and rigor to the migration, ensuring business reporting continuity throughout the transition. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who can onboard quickly, deliver independently, and make a meaningful contribution within a defined timeline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute

the migration of existing Power BI dashboards and reports to Tableau, ensuring functional and visual parity

  • Audit and document

current Power BI assets — reports, datasets, and data sources — to create a structured migration plan

  • Validate migrated

dashboards against source reports for data accuracy and consistency

  • Identify

opportunities to enhance and optimize reports during the migration rather than a like-for-like lift-and-shift

  • Write and optimize

complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources

  • Optimize dashboard

performance through efficient data modeling, extract strategies, and Tableau Server/Cloud management

  • Follow and

contribute to Tableau development best practices, standards, and governance within the BI team

  • Document all

deliverables thoroughly — including migration mapping, Tableau standards, and dashboard logic — to ensure seamless handover at the end of the engagement

  • Support upskilling

of internal BI team members on Tableau during the transition period

Required Qualifications:

  • 4–7 years of

hands-on experience with Tableau

  • 4–7 years of strong

SQL proficiency – writing complex queries, joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions

  • Proven experience

building production-grade dashboards consumed by senior stakeholders

  • Solid understanding

of data visualization principles and storytelling with data

  • Experience working

with relational databases and cloud data warehouses

  • Ability to ramp up

quickly with minimal hand holding in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong

communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Prior contract or

project-based work experience is a plus

Good to Have:

  • Familiarity with

Power BI (DAX, Power Query) and experience in BI tool migration projects is a plus

  • Experience with

Tableau Prep for data preparation and blending

  • Tableau Desktop

Specialist or Tableau Certified Data Analyst certification
