The role

We're looking for an experienced finance professional to join our FP&A team as a Senior Financial Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This role plays a key part in providing forward-looking financial insight, supporting the development of cash forecasts, long-term financial plans and scenario modelling that help shape strategic decision-making across the Group.

Working closely with senior finance leaders and business stakeholders, you'll provide robust analysis and challenge to ensure the business has a clear understanding of future performance, risks and opportunities.

Joining at the start of MAG's annual business planning cycle, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of key workstreams and contribute throughout the full planning process, from initial assumptions and modelling through to final delivery. This makes the role an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, building financial models and translating complex information into meaningful insight.

Whether your background comes from FP&A, Finance Business Partnering or a broader commercial finance role with strong forecasting and modelling exposure, you'll be joining a high-performing team that plays a central role in helping MAG make informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and maintenance of cash forecasts, ensuring accuracy and robustness across short, medium and long-term planning horizons.
  • Support the development of MAG's long-term business plans and financial forecasts.
  • Build, develop and enhance financial models to support strategic planning, investment decisions and scenario analysis.
  • Partner with finance and operational stakeholders across the business to understand performance drivers and future business requirements.
  • Deliver high-quality analysis and insight to support decision-making at both operational and senior leadership level.
  • Evaluate risks, opportunities and sensitivities within forecasts and business plans.
  • Support the annual planning cycle and periodic reforecasting processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across forecasting, modelling and reporting processes.
  • Present financial analysis and recommendations in a clear and engaging manner to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Support ad-hoc financial and strategic projects as required.

What will make you successful in the role?

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience with significant relevant commercial finance experience.
  • Proven experience in FP&A, financial planning, financial analysis, commercial finance or finance business partnering roles.
  • Strong experience in financial modelling, forecasting and scenario planning.
  • Exposure to cash forecasting, treasury forecasting or long-term business planning would be highly advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel skills and a strong analytical mindset.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial information and translate it into meaningful business insight.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence where appropriate.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an ability to identify risks, opportunities and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deliver to demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a desire to continuously improve processes and ways of working.
