Job Title:

Cybersecurity Engineer Co-Op

Job Description:

Here at Entegris, we use advanced science to enable technologies that transform the world, and we are seeking employees who have the drive to continue the mission.

The Role: Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.

The co-op works alongside the architects and engineers who design and build the security controls protecting Entegris's identity, cloud, and operational technology environments. Day to day work spans identity and access governance in Microsoft Entra and M365, cloud security hardening in Azure and Google Cloud, Python and Microsoft Graph automation for security reporting and analysis at scale, and support for tooling evaluations and technical documentation. The role suits an undergraduate or graduate student in cybersecurity, computer science, or information systems who has foundational security knowledge, some scripting experience, and can write clearly. It is a hands-on assignment with real ownership rather than a shadowing rotation, offering exposure to a modern enterprise security stack at a global manufacturer.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work alongside security engineers and architects on daily tasks and design reviews to learn how security controls are chosen, built, and maintained
  • Write and improve small Python scripts with mentorship, pulling data from Microsoft Graph and other security tooling APIs, cleaning it up, and automating recurring reports that are done by hand today
  • Analyze large identity data sets to surface gaps such as MFA coverage, stale accounts, and group membership anomalies
  • Compare system and application configurations in Google Cloud, Azure, and M365 against our written security baselines and flag differences for an engineer to reviewBuild recurring metrics reports in Excel or Power BI from security dashboards, and help turn the results into short summaries leadership can read
  • Track remediation progress on security findings, keeping owners and due dates current
  • Keep security documentation current, including runbooks, job aids, asset inventories, and network diagrams, and test and write down the steps for common tasks like MFA enrollment, endpoint agent installation, and access requests so instructions are easy for employees to follow
  • Learn to read and make guided changes to our infrastructure such as code and configuration management repositories, such as Terraform and Ansible, submitting work through Git branches and pull requests for review
  • Complete a small, well-scoped final project with your mentor and present what you learned to the team

What We Seek:

  • Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field
  • Completion of at least one introductory computing, networking, or information technology course
  • Hands-on coding experience in Python, whether from coursework, a class project, a personal project, or club work. You should be able to read a script, change it, and be eager to write more
  • Interest in learning automation and infrastructure as code tooling such as Terraform and Ansible. No prior experience with these tools is required as we will teach you!
  • Curiosity about cybersecurity and a willingness to ask questions and pick up new tools with guidance
  • Dependable and organized, able to follow written procedures accurately and keep careful records
  • Clear written and verbal communication, and comfort working as part of a team
  • Must be able to work onsite at the Chaska, MN facility for the full duration of the assignment. No travel is required
  • No prior cybersecurity work experience or certifications are required
  • Preferred: exposure to Git or version control, hands-on time with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud, a personal home lab, participation in a cyber club or competition such as CCDC or a CTF, or coursework in networking or operating systems

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year: Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field Anticipated graduation between June 2028 and June 2030, rising sophomore, junior, or senior. First and second year students are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a currently enrolled student
  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June
  • Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program
  • Entegris is not currently hiring candidates for co-ops/internships who will need, now or at any time in the future, Entegris sponsorship through the H1-B lottery.
