Overview
The Email InfoSec Engineer (with an emphasis on Email Security) completes tasks designed to ensure the security of the organization's systems and information assets. This position protects against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction of company systems or data while supporting systems security control objectives to meet regulatory and contractual requirements. This position works with the business and end-users to determine individual department needs, implements policies and procedures, and supports compliance throughout the organization. Must be familiar with a variety of Information Security concepts, practices, and procedures.
This is a fully remote position with the option of working a hybrid schedule out of our Coral Gables, FL office. We offer a competitive salary range of $112,000 to $170,000, plus an annual bonus. Responsibilities
- Oversee and optimize the enterprise email security ecosystem, including secure email gateways, authentication protocols, phishing detection and simulation programs, spam and malware filtering, and encryption technologies to safeguard organizational communications.
- Provide advanced support and subject matter expertise across a diverse portfolio of cybersecurity technologies, including Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), endpoint protection, database security, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), vulnerability management, and security auditing platforms.
- Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of public cloud security controls across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments, ensuring adherence to cloud security frameworks and alignment with organizational risk tolerance.
- Develop, maintain, and govern comprehensive security documentation, including policies, standards, architectural diagrams, and procedural playbooks, to support consistent and auditable security operations.
- Execute and coordinate incident response and remediation activities, ensuring timely resolution of security events, vulnerabilities, and audit findings in alignment with business continuity and compliance requirements.
- Partner with IT, compliance, and audit teams to support enterprise security assessments, tabletop exercises, regulatory audits, and third-party security reviews, providing evidence, expertise, and remediation planning.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging security threats, technologies, and industry best practices, proactively integrating intelligence and innovation into the organization’s cybersecurity posture.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that strengthen the company’s overall IT and security control environment, advancing both business resilience and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience within systems operations and/or systems security
- Experience managing secure email gateways and other email security solutions
- Experience with systems events monitoring and enrichment, analysis, and anomaly detection
- Experience in highly regulated environments, preferably Financial Services or similar
- Strong research and troubleshooting skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of email security, including experience configuring and supporting secure email gateways
- Knowledge of methods to secure systems, databases, and applications
- Skill with Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting
- Broad understanding of current information security technologies, security industry trends, etc.
- Quick learner, adaptable, flexible, customer service oriented, a team player, and always closes the loop with the customer
Certifications:
- Preferred: the following licenses or certificates are preferred: CISSP, CISA, CEH, CSSLP, CHFI, CCSP, GCIH, GCIA, ITIL v3, MCP, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security +, AWS, Azure
Location & Compensation:
- This role can be hybrid out of our Coral Gables, Florida office or be remote-based anywhere in the US.
- Base compensation is expected to be $112,000 - $170,000 with the opportunity for incentive compensation, including bonus compensation.
