About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer – Construction Support to provide technical guidance and field engineering support during the construction phase of a major industrial project. This role will act as a key liaison between engineering, construction, quality, and commissioning teams to ensure electrical installations are completed safely and in accordance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support to construction teams regarding electrical systems and installations.
- Review IFC drawings, specifications, and construction work packages.
- Support field modifications, design clarifications, and technical queries.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Review and resolve field non-conformances and technical issues.
- Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.
- Participate in inspections, walkdowns, punch list reviews, and turnover activities.
- Support electrical testing, commissioning, and start-up readiness activities.
- Assist with project reporting, planning, and schedule coordination.
- Promote and maintain compliance with project HSE requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility preferred.
- Minimum 8+ years of electrical engineering experience supporting industrial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of power distribution, motor control systems, substations, and industrial electrical installations.
- Experience supporting construction execution in LNG, energy, mining, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
